Valve seems to have no intention of getting involved in the booming cryptocurrency market (yet?), because new information on SteamDB details that Steam will now block games that use cryptocurrencies and NFTs.

As pointed out for the first time on SteamDB’s official Twitter account, reviewing recent code changes in the Steam entry rules will now block games that belong to specific encryption tendencies, as detailed below:

An application built on blockchain technology can issue or allow the exchange of cryptocurrency or NFT.

According to the post, at least one cryptocurrency-based game has been deleted, and the game has an existing Steam store page. Scrolling down to the comments, it seems that there are still some games that are not of Valve's attention. A game called Mist still has its store page. You can clearly see in the promotional video on the page that it is built on Binance Smart Chain.

what do you think? Is blocking encryption-based games a good move for Valve? Let us know in the comments below!
