Oktoberfest — a fall tradition — is back in Nebraska.

Here's how you can celebrate the German festival in Omaha, Lincoln and the surrounding area.

When: Oct. 8, 2-8 p.m.

Where: 230 W Lincoln St., Papillion

Beer garden, live music, prizes for best costume, and Masskrugstemmen contest.

Where: 2611 Arbor Ave., Nebraska City

Authentic German food and beers with music. $30 per person, with each ticket planting a tree in the nation's forest.

Where: Historic 100 Block, Council Bluffs

Beer sampling, pretzel necklaces, stein hoist, and more.

Where: The Happy Raven, 122 N. 11th St., Lincoln

Week-long celebration of fall beers.

Where: Beer Corner USA, 36th and Farnam streets, Omaha

Ceremonial keg tapping, live German music, German beers on tap and German food. Beer on tap from Hofbrau, Spaten, Warsteiner, Paulaner, Hacker-Pschorr and Weihenstephaner. Food will include brats, chicken schnitzel, pretzels, desserts and more. Admission is free.

Where: 201 North 7th Street, Lincoln

Exclusive beer, sausages and pretzels from Bierhaus Maisschäler, plus live music, cornhole, stein stamina and axe throwing.

Where: Mt. Crescent Ski Area

Live polka music, beer garden, and more. Tickets are $15, which includes entry fee, commemorative beer mug, and $5 refills on all beer.

Live music, German food, beer garden, and family entertainment. Held in conjunction with the Lion's Club Parade and the River Point Arts Festival.

When: Oct. 8, 5-11 p.m.

Where: The Shoppes at Piedmont, located near S 50th Street and S Cotner Boulevard, Lincoln
